Focus Entertainment, a publisher you may know from games like Atlas Fallen, Atomic Heart, Warhammer 40K: Boltgun, Evil West, A Plague Tale: Requiem and more, will officially be rebranded to PulluP Entertainment on April 1, 2024.
The news came as part of the company’s latest third-quarter earnings report, which also saw the company take a 43% dip in revenue compared to last year, though that result is attributed to the lack of any releases in recent months more than anything else.
“There was no major games release during the quarter while the third quarter of the previous year benefited from the successful launches of A Plague Tale: Requiem and Evil West, resulting in a high comparison base,” said Focus Entertainment in the report.
Confusingly though, the name ‘Focus Entertainment’ isn’t going away entirely. PulluP Entertainment, as it’ll be called will have three main branches of its business.
Focus Entertainment Publishing, the Arcade Crew and PulluP Entertainment’s suite of in-house developing studios.
The Arcade Crew will be led by chief executive officer at Dotemu and deputy managing director Cyrille Imbert, while Focus Entertainment Publishing will have deputy managing director John Bert at the helm.
As the dedicated publishing arm, Focus Entertainment Publishing will work on independent titles and retro titles, working with other, smaller developers.
Finally the Studios division, as it’s being called will consist of seven different studios; Deck13, Streumon, Twelve Tenths, Leikir Studio, Blackmill, Dovetail and Carpool Studio.
Hopefully this new reorganization of the company will be positive for the future, and that things won’t be too confusing between the new rebrand, and the establishing of the publishing arm under the same old name.
A new company logo would help differentiate, though for now the new look of PulluP Entertainment has yet to be revealed.
