Immortals of Aveum developer Ascendant Studios has reportedly furloughed a large portion of its staff, after the game failed to set tills alight following its launch last summer.
While the company hasn’t made any official announcement on the situation, ex-staff member Kris Morness brought things to light in a LinkedIn post, which was later baked up by Polygon reporter Nicole Carpenter, who stated that a “large portion” of Ascendant Studios’ staff were now on furlough.

Back in September 2023, it was reported that nearly half of the team at Ascendant Studios had been laid off due to lacklustre sales of Immortals of Aveum. More recently, the developer released a new update for the game that implemented HDR support, and later on it will add FSR 3 frame generation, the first PS5 game to do so.
