Mojang and Blackbird Interactive have announced that they are ending development on new content for Minecraft Legends, only 9 months after the game originally released.
The news came at the end of a blog post that also highlighted the final new content update, Snow vs. Snouts, the last Lost Legends challenge.
“Since launch, we’ve listened to community feedback and implemented a series of changes and tweaks to make the game better. With that complete, we’re now going to take a step back from development.” said Mojang.
This is the second game in the last few months that Mojang has announced it is ending support and development on. Minecraft Dungeons support ended last September, and that was after the game reached 25 million players over three years.
With Legends support ending now it’s clear Mojang wants to move on to other things. There’s definitely more Minecraft-based projects in the pipeline.
Now it looks like Mojang can focus on whatever those new projects are, which hopefully means we’ll hear more about them soon.
