Pokemon Legends: Arceus takes place in the early days of the Pokémon world when humans and Pokemon were at odds.
This game occurs in the Pokemon world’s Hisui region, later renamed the Sinnoh region. In Jubilife Village, the player will be a member of the Survey Corps of the Galaxy Expedition Team (also referred to as the Galaxy Team), who are tasked with researching the Pokemon in the area.
The player must catch every Pokémon in this region to complete Hisui’s first Pokédex, which is used to learn about Pokemon.
In this guide, we will learn everything you need to know about Starly!
Starly
Starly, the twelfth Pokemon in the Hisuian Pokedex, is a Normal and Flying type Starling Pokemon with a grayish-brown and black body that looks like a small bird, a white marking on its face that looks like a mask, a pair of oval, black eyes with white pupils, an orange beak with a black tip, a white circular marking on its chest, a small tuft of feathers that is curling over its back and black-colored head, black pointed ruff around its neck, a pair of grayish-brown wings with black tips separated by pointed markings, a pair of orange feet with three toes in the front and a single toe in the back, and black tail feathers with a single white feather in the middle.
According to its Pokedex entry in the game, Starly, whose cries are pretty unpleasant, gathers in large flocks and lives in the fields and the mountains. Also, despite being tiny, their wings are so strong that a strike from them causes pain that lasts for a week.
Basic Information
Starly is a Normal and Flying type Pokemon which means it has a weakness to Electric-type, Ice-type, and Rock-type moves (super effective), a resistance to Bug-type and Grass-type moves (not very effective), and immunity to Ghost-type and Ground-type moves (no effect).
Starly’s base stats are 40 HP, 55 Attack, 30 Defense, 30 Special Attack, 30 Special Defense, and 60 Speed for a total of 245.
Starly will evolve into a Staravia when it reaches Level 14, which then evolves into a Staraptor when it reaches Level 34.
It is worth noting that Starly prefers Hearty Grains, Dazzling Honey, and Plump Beans if the player wishes to try to lure it with food before catching it.
When a Starly is defeated or captured, the player receives a Spoiled Apricorn and an Apricorn.
Location
Starly can be found in the following locations:
Obsidian Fieldlands: in Aspiration HIll, in Horseshoe Plains, south of Windswept Run, and south of Tidewater Dam.
Cobalt Coastlands: in Gingko Landing and Deadwood Haunt.
Starly can be found in the locations mentioned above in every weather condition but only during the morning, midday, and evening.
Aside from that, the player can find Starly in Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Obsidian Fieldlands and the Cobalt Coastlands.
Research Tasks
The following are the Research Tasks in Starly’s Pokedex entry:
With the exception of Research Tasks with an x2 multiplier, which increases two Research Levels for completing one objective, the player must complete an objective for a specific Research Task to increase a Starly’s Research Level by one. To complete Starly’s Pokedex entry, the player must reach Research Level 10.
To quickly complete Starly’s Pokedex entry, the player can catch six Starly without being spotted (from behind or unawares), which ticks the first, second, and third objective of the ‘number caught’ and the ‘number you’ve caught without being spotted’ Research Task.
Hence, it immediately raises the Research Level to 9 (thanks to the x2 multiplier of the ‘number caught’ Research Task) and makes sure that at least one of the caught Starly is a male and a female, which ticks the objective of the ‘number of different forms you’ve obtained’ Research Task, to reach Research Level 10.
Moves
Starly can learn new moves in two ways: by leveling up and by visiting the Training Grounds.
Leveling Up
Starly will learn and master these moves by leveling up:
Training Grounds
Starly can learn these moves at the Training Grounds found in the northwest of Jubilife Village:
Now that the player has a Starly and is familiar with it, the player can try to use it to complete requests, missions, or Arceus’ task for the player, which is to catch ’em all!
